Yashith Fernando

Yashith Fernando is a Melbourne-based artist who recently made his professional musical theatre debut as Francois in & Juliet (Michael Cassel Group).

Currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre) at Victorian College of the Arts, Yash has performed in Elegies (dir. Tyran Parke) and Telling Tales (dir. Emma Austin) and will graduate at the end of 2023.

Prior to VCA, Yashith performed the role of Joe in Jack Frost (Jamm’d) and Grumio in The Taming of the Shrew (Melbourne Shakespeare Company).

In 2022, Yashith played the role of Kaji in the ABC’s Australian crime drama, Savage River.

Yashith also has a Bachelor of Music (Popular Voice) from Monash University and can play the violin, piano and saxophone.
