Taye is a recent graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Music Theatre. 

Whilst at WAAPA, Taye played the roles of Basilius in Head Over Heels (dir. Melanie Hillman), Nick in Godspell (dir. Pippa Grandison), Kiki/Lowell/dance captain in Legally Blonde (dir. Crispin Taylor), ensemble in And the World Goes ‘Round (dir. Cameron Mitchell), dance captain/ensemble in Reefer Madness (dir. Crispin Taylor) and understudied the role of Ren in Footloose (dir. Jason Langley). 

Taye has also danced at the State Theatre Centre and Crown Casino (Perth) for Carmelo Entertainment. Prior to studying, he was a featured dancer in the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols behind Zeke Power in Brisbane.  

Taye’s passion for performance began at a young age training on the Gold Coast and performing in state and local Carols, concerts and productions. During this time, he made his musical theatre professional debut, playing the role of Bruce Bogtrotter in the Australian tour of Matilda the Musical (RSC). 

Straight out of university, Taye played the role of Tom Springfield in Dusty the musical – In concert for Prospero Arts. He also performed in Back to the Future, covering the roles of Marty and George McFly.

Next, Taye will play Ovington in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at The Hayes. Then he will be joining the Australian cast of Mrs Doubtfire.
