Rob McDougall

Rob McDougall is a skilled and versatile singer, musician, actor and conductor who has performed throughout Australia, Europe and America.
He initially studied Music at the Sydney Conservatorium, graduating with a Bachelor of Music. He then received the American Society of Composers, Authors and Producers Scholarship enabling him to study Music Theatre in New York. During his time there, he performed at Carnegie Hall, the famous Birdland Cabaret Club and was invited to perform for Steven Schwartz.
In 2014, Rob was cast in the Australian production of Les Misérables, understudying the role of Javert and eventually taking over the role of The Bishop. He then performed the role of The Proprietor in Assassins at the Hayes Theatre and also at the Sydney Opera House.
Rob is well-known in Newcastle, having worked for 10 years with popular Newcastle big band group Ultra Swing Lounge.
Rob returned to the role of Javert in Les Misérables at Riverside Theatre, Parramatta. He was then cast as Neville Craven opposite Anthony Warlow in The Secret Garden, which unfortunately did not proceed due to COVID-19.
Rob played Henry Stride in the Hayes Theatre Co production of Jekyll & Hyde. More recently, Rob reprised the role of Javert in Les Misérables for Packemin productions.
