Naomi is an accomplished director of theatre and opera. Her recent credits include Australian Associate Director of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child and now holds the same position at & Juliet (Michael Cassel Group).

Naomi was Artistic Director of the internationally renowned children’s theatre company Patch Theatre Company 2015 – 2018, creating new works touring nationally and internationally. A graduate of VCA Directing, she has directed for Australia’s leading main stage theatre and opera companies, orchestras, and commercial producers.  Directing credits include: The Waiting Room (Melbourne Theatre Company), How To Kill Your Husband, Noye’s Fludde (Victoria Opera), Peter and the Wolf with Miriam Margoyles (Adelaide Festival/Foxtel), Hamlet (STC Education), Actors at Work (Bell Shakespeare), Rabbit Hole (Red Stitch Theatre) and Cautionary Tales for Children (Arena Theatre). She served as Resident Director and directed Schools Company for Opera Australia and was resident director for several Sydney Theatre Company and Melbourne Theatre Company productions.

She has taught drama and aesthetic education extensively to preschool children through to primary, secondary, tertiary and actor training through Australia, UK and US, as well as community organisations including Milkcrate and Prahran Mission, and Creative Director on ARC Project Vocal Empowerment for teenagers with Cochlear Implants.

She was the recipient of the Gloria Dawn / Gloria Payten Fellowship in 2012 and attended the Lincoln Centre Directors Lab and Lincoln Center Aesthetic Education Program. She coauthored of a Platform Paper published by Currency Press on the value of arts education.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary Drama/ Psychology) from Deakin University, a Graduate Diploma in Dramatic Arts (Direction) Victorian College of the Arts and is currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Psychology at University of Melbourne.
