Bridget Costello

New Zealander, Bridget Costello, played the role of Christine Daae in the original West End production and the recent new production of The Phantom of the Opera at the Sydney Opera House and Arts Centre, Melbourne. She initially played the role of Understudy Christine and Swing in the London West End production.
Her training commenced at the New Zealand School of Music and she went on to study at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London. After graduating, Bridget played Princess Beautiful in The Tinderbox (Charing Cross Theatre), Princess Ida in Princess Ida (Finborough Theatre) and was a Soloist at Thursford Christmas Spectacular. She had the honour of singing the New Zealand and British National Anthems at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Hyde Park Corner. Bridget has also performed with the New Zealand Opera in Madame Butterfly and The Bartered Bride, plus recently was a soloist in A Night of Sondheim at the Auckland Civic, directed by Tyran Parke.
In 2023, Bridget starred in the new Australian musical Driftwood- The Musical (Umbrella Productions), which toured Melbourne and Sydney.
