Cherine Peck

Cherine is an award-winning actress with over thirty years of experience in the entertainment industry.

At 16 she made her commercial musical theatre debut in Harry M Miller’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar, touring Australia and New Zealand. She quickly became a sought-after performer, landing roles in the Australian premiere of Miss Saigon for Cameron Macintosh, David Atkins’ production of Little Shop of Horrors (Chiffon), The Boy From Oz (Linelle), Buddy the Musical, Avenue Q (Gary Coleman), Violet (Lula Buffington) and Music of the Night – the songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

She created the role of the streetwise hyena Shenzi in The Lion King, for which she was nominated for a Helpmann Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. Cherine was also awarded a Green Room Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her performance as Diane in Hair, and was nominated again for her role of Melpomene in Xanadu.

Cherine has toured internationally with the Christine Anu band, leading her to front her own bands in Sydney and Melbourne.
Cherine’s passion for teaching, led her to previously being the Director of Vocal Training at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance and she opened her own singing school and talent agency a decade ago. She is also a certified life coach for artists and performers.

Recently Cherine played the role of The Witch in Into the Woods for which she was nominated for a Green Room Award for Best Leading Artist and she is currently playing Mrs Corry in the national tour of Mary Poppins.
